Safety

The  ICQ  Group has applied Legislative Decree 626/94 to continuously improve the health and safety of its employees and suppliers.
The Group’s objective is to reach the highest level of effectiveness and efficiency in its corporate processes fully respecting the environment, health and safety,  in compliance with its Group mission and policy.  For this purpose, the Group reduces and prevents  risks focusing its attention from the initial planning phase to plant building and management, to ongoing personnel training, applying the best technology and practices and seeking the safest  processes and products.  Safety involves two main aspects:

  • Occupational safety;  
  • Safety in temporary and mobile building sites.

The Consolidated Finance Act Legislative Decree  81/2008 that replaces the old Legislative Decree 626/94 represents the relevant law for occupational safety.
Chapter IV of Legislative Decree  81/2008 that replaces the old Legislative Decree 494/96 represents the relevant guidelines for safety in temporary and mobile building sites.
The following regulations are applied to both office work and to plants:

  • For the work place, drafting and/or updating  the DVR and DUVRI Documents (Risk Assessment Document)s;
  • Drafting and/or updating the Emergency Plan;
  • For temporary and mobile building sites drafting and/or updating the Coordination Safety Plan;
  • Participating in meetings for coordinating safety with the landfill owners;  
  • Training and educating employees on occupational risks;
  • Appointing third parties for conducting first aid and anti-fire courses;
  • Health supervision and appointing a Medical Doctor;
  • Appointing third party companies for the upkeep of anti-fire devices present on the plants;
  • Appointing  the  RSPP (Head of the Prevention and Protection Service), the RLS (Representatives of Employees for Safety). for the new companies and subsequent  informing the ISPEL of the persons appointed;
  • First aid boxes for all plants;
  • New extinguishers for new plants;
  • Personal protective equipment for workers.
