Social and cultural commitment

Social solidarity and cultural commitment are key values in the ICQ Group’s corporate culture. These values are applied at different levels, however, they are at the basis of all of the Group’s activities: from management to planning, from organization to stakeholder relations, to environmentally sustainable policies to participating in the cultural and social development of the communities in which it operates. As part of this spirit, the ICQ Group supports initiatives in the sports, music and cultural words, mainly focused at developing the territory and youth activities.

In the cultural field the ICQ Group has been working since 2006 in recovering and functionally re-converting a Convent located in Orte (VT), also known as the Convent of Saint Bernardino, dating back to the 1400’s and located on the hill named after the saint which had been abandoned. As part of social and cultural activities for the population of Orte and the surrounding areas, various didactic activities have already been held in the convent on recovering cultural heritage. A large project will also include re-converting the convent area into a multi-functional cultural center (with conference halls, exhibition areas, sale and display of typical local products and a restaurant), a religious center (with the restoration of the Church) and a sports center (with the transformation of the gym into a fitness and wellness center).

In the field of music, the Group has been a partner -since the first edition in 2003- of the festival "Musica per i borghi", an itinerant musical project that takes place in the ancient Medieval town of Marsciano, province of Perugia.
The event takes place in the early part of the summer and in the past few years has had an audience of over 30,000 people; it contributes to preserving the cultural and economic vitality of a predominantly rural and tourist area.

In the art field, ICQ sponsors the Fabrizio De Andrè Musical Award, one of the most important Italian music festivals of songwriters that takes place at the end of November in Emilia Romagna.

In the sports field, the ICQ Group has supported small projects aimed at responding to the competitive and social youth needs. This has led the company to becoming a stable partner and presently the main sponsor of the volleyball team in Rossano, in the province of Cosenza.
The team, which was created in 1973 with the name Simet Volley, is today called ICQ Rossano Volley and offers over 800 boys and girls from 7-8 years of age on, the possibility of engaging in sports activities and competing in national championships: in particular, the major women’s team competes in the B1 division national championship; the male team in the D division. www.simetvolley.it
